"General Authority"

"General Authority" or "GA" is a title given to the highest ranking leaders of the LDS church.  As I was watching the video in my last post, I took a second to think about what that title really implies.

General:
  • the leader of an army whose orders are to be strictly followed
  • of or pertaining to all persons or things belonging to a group or category
Authority:
  • right to command: the right or power to enforce rules or give orders
  • holder of power: somebody or something with official power
  • power given to somebody: power to act on behalf of somebody else, or official permission to do something
Are not the LDS leaders to be strictly obeyed?  Do they not teach the masses that they have the right to command and speak for god?

When you really stop to think about it, they are not even trying to hide the fact that they want your complete and total obedience.  They even give themselves titles that display their power and authority.

They are truly revered by millions to be prophets, seers, and revelators.  The only problem is that they don't prophesy.  They don't see.  And they don't reveal.

They are frauds who just want your money and total obedience.  The LDS church IS a cult.

I urge all my Mormon readers to open your eyes and take a close look at what you are being taught.  You are slaves.  You are sheep.  You have been deceived.  They tell you to avoid people like me because they don't want you to think for yourselves.  They don't want you to know what they're up to.  They don't want you to know about the true history of Joseph Smith.  They just want you to "bow your head and say yes".

They are wolves in sheep's clothing.

Have you seen this? You probably have, but I thought I would let you know. This kind of thing will continue happen more and more until the mormon church changes it's tune.

Hi Brad,

Actually I hadn't seen that video. I'll put it in a new post soon. Thanks so much for sharing.

General Authorities aren't leaders at all. They bully, manipulate, guilt its members into obeying.

A real leader will sacrifice everything- including $- to help and lead for the greater good. They will work side by side with the people to make things happen.

The LDS church has never had a real leader. The term "general authority" actually fits those men well.

Good point, Heather. I agree completely. A real leader doesn't force and bully.

Interesting that you call them wolves in sheep clothing, a term coined by Jesus Christ. You don't believe Jesus even existed, and therefore don't belive in his prophecies. I've noticed you have a certain weakness here, while writing this post you contemplated not using the term because you are an open and notorious atheist, however, your desire to stick it to the Mormons outweighs your desire to speak rationally. Let the left side of your brain open up and start working and your posts will actually make more sense.

I do have to give you credit for tenacity though, you certainly are not a quitter.

If Jesus was real, is it possible that maybe, just maybe, he was warning people against men like this? Men who would take the last $10 from a hungry family in the name of tithing and blessings.. Men who encourage ignorance and blind obedience.

Jesus also warned of false prophets. Just like this post said, what have they ever prophesied? What have they ever revealed other than how badly god wants your money and how much he hates double earrings?

I hope someday you will open your eyes to see how deeply they have deceived you.

since you were once a member I'm assuming you know that the leaders of the church don't get paid. Maybe you tried to disprove it in one of your older posts but it would be impossible to read them all seeing as you have dedicated a good chunk of time trying to put down the church. it almost seems like anti-mormonism is your religion

Cassie,

Please tell me how a non-paid church leader can afford to live in a multi-million dollar home...

many of them are well educated and had good paying jobs. they are given some money to live on while they serve the Lord but most are already well off once they are called.

And that's not a concern to you? The people with the big bucks always getting the big callings? You just keep living in dream land, sweety, because your precious prophets are laughing all the way to the bank with your money. They are paid. Do a little research.

Try watching this video and you'll be shocked. I'm not in the mood to make it into a clickable link, so you'll have to copy and paste it into your address bar.
