Get Out of Hell Free!

Referring to my post a while back about why I feel that religion makes people behave worse, I suddenly had a thought to do a search for images of "Get out of hell free", obviously referring to the Monopoly "Get out of jail free" card.

This is awesome!  Their slogan is, "Sin all you want.  We'll print more!"

And while it is meant to be a joke, the mentality of religion is really no different.  The makers of these cards have been strongly condemned to hell by judgmental believers, and yet these cards accurately, but sarcastically, portray basic Christian belief:

Get Out of Hell Free!

If god doesn't have a sense of humor, then why the hell would I want to be with him for all eternity?

Is Intolerance Preached in the Scriptures?

On my mission, I had a little black book full of quick scripture references on various topics.  I made this cheat book myself and I arranged the topics in alphabetical order.  Today I pulled it down from my book shelf and opened it.  The first topic in this book is Atheism/Atheists.  Shall we see what the holy scriptures have to say on this subject?

Here's a goodie in Mormon 9:1-6

1 And now, I speak also concerning those who do not believe in Christ.
2 Behold, will ye believe in the day of your visitation—behold, when the Lord shall come, yea, even that great day when the earth shall be rolled together as a scroll, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, yea, in that great day when ye shall be brought to stand before the Lamb of God—then will ye say that there is no God?
3 Then will ye longer deny the Christ, or can ye behold the Lamb of God? Do ye suppose that ye shall dwell with him under a consciousness of your guilt? Do ye suppose that ye could be happy to dwell with that holy Being, when your souls are racked with a consciousness of guilt that ye have ever abused his laws?
4 Behold, I say unto you that ye would be more miserable to dwell with a holy and just God, under a consciousness of your filthiness before him, than ye would to dwell with the damned souls in hell.
5 For behold, when ye shall be brought to see your nakedness before God, and also the glory of God, and the holiness of Jesus Christ, it will kindle a flame of unquenchable fire upon you.
6 O then ye unbelieving, turn ye unto the Lord; cry mightily unto the Father in the name of Jesus, that perhaps ye may be found spotless, pure, fair, and white, having been cleansed by the blood of the Lamb, at that great and last day.

I laugh at the questions: when god returns and it is awful and terrible, will you believe then?  Will you keep denying that Jesus is real even though he is shoving hot coals up your ass?

Well, duh!  Of course I will believe when that happens! Key word: "WHEN".  So I will ask a return question: Until that great and terrible day, will you not believe?

Verses like this are the reasons I was terrified to dare deny god!  It would be better to burn in hell than to be unworthy in the presence of the lord!  You will get doused with unquenchable fire!  Sure sounds like a loving god to me...  So to avoid all this terrible wrath, just say the words "I believe" so that god won't turn you into a pile of ash on that day.

Wow, great reason to believe: to avoid the potential punishment.  Pathetic!

Psalms 53:1

1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

So atheists are evil and can do no good.  This does not sound like the word of a loving, forgiving god to me but the word of a bigot and and an intolerant bully.

Ether 4:8

8 And he that will contend against the word of the Lord, let him be accursed; and he that shall deny these things, let him be accursed; for unto them will I show no greater things, saith Jesus Christ; for I am he who speaketh.

He that shall deny these things, based upon complete blind faith, will be cursed by god.  Whatever happened to merciful?  This god is merciless and brutal.  Unforgiving and evil!

John 3:18

18 He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.

What a shallow god!  All he cares about is what you believe!  It has nothing to do with your actions, knowledge, or the intents of your heart!  If you are an intelligent person who just happens to not believe in mythical fairy tales, sucks to be you!  You're off to hell for using the brain that HE gave you!

No wonder so many believers are intolerant of unbelievers.  They are just following the example of their loving god.

Why Mormons Are Okay with the Church Making Lots of Money...

...and gaining lots of power.

It's really quite simple.  It's the kingdom of god.  How can it not be successful?  To the average member, the fact that the LDS corporation makes billions of dollars a year is only further evidence of it's truthfulness.

If it actually was the kingdom of god, we would expect to see it grow financially and even politically.  This is why most members are also perfectly okay with it when the church gets involved in political matters.  The members believe that by influencing government, the will of god for our day can be made manifest.

Members of the church do not seem to mind that the LDS church spent 3 billion dollars on City Creek Mall, just across the street from Temple Square.  They are okay with it because the 'kingdom of god on earth' has provided a safe mall, where inappropriate items cannot be bought or sold and all the shops are closed on Sunday.

Mormons make no secret about the fact that they want money.  Money is power, and the more power god's kingdom has, the better.  I would not be surprised at all to learn that the LDS church heavily funded the presidential campaign of Mitt Romney.  I would be shocked if they did not!

So Mormons are okay with the church influencing the government.  This is why the state laws of Utah closely reflect the standards of the church.  Alcohol is heavily moderated.  Decent strip clubs do not exist.  And while the non-Mormons in Utah view this as the church forcing their views on everyone, the Mormons in Utah view it as a good thing by removing temptations from society.  They believe they are having a positive influence on their little corner of the world.

Naturally, the rest of the world just looks at Utah Mormons and shakes their collective heads in embarrasment.

Salt Lake City is literally viewed as the kingdom of god on earth.  The more uncleanliness they can remove from Zion, the more pleased god will be.  It is okay for Mormons to seek money and power because it's all in the hands of god.

Let's hope and prey that there is NEVER a Mormon in the White House!  While the common members of the church have good intentions by letting the Mormon church get control of the government, it is not good!  Church and state were never meant to be married.  Unfortunately, in Utah, there is practically no difference.

Mormon's Reactions to Romney's Defeat

I have been browsing on Facebook and it is almost amusing to see the Mormon reaction to Mitt Romney's defeat.

It is like they are in shock or denial.  Many of them strongly express their opinions about Obama, and, while they are free to voice those opinions, some of them are truly hateful, calling him Hitler, a Muslim, a flake, and his supporters called "stupid".

These are then followed by predictions of doom and gloom for our country: war, economic downfall, higher taxes, and less jobs.

While I am not necessarially happy that Obama won, I am definitely thrilled that Romney lost!

It is interesting to read their comments about how the nation has chosen evil and corruption.  Mormons really have no ability to comprehend that the entire world DOES NOT share their conservative views.

To Mormons, the choice to elect Romney was obvious.  He would fight those evil gays and their horrible, family-attacking marriages.  The fact that Obama won, only further confirms to the Mormons that the world is evil and chooses wickedness over righteousness.  This, of course, further confirms that their beliefs are true.  And yes, to the Mormons, Obama might as well be the anti-Christ.

I find it funny that they were all SO CONVINCED that Romney would win.  Now that he has not, they blame the "evil" people of this country for thwarting the work of god.

In addition, three more states have passed litigation to legalize same sex marriage.  While this is great progress in the cause for universal equality, the Mormons are adamately opposed to it.  And while the gay rights movement continues to make progress, the Mormons will continue to see it as the world lowering and lowering their standards until marriage to animals is allowed!

Mormons oppose equality of the sexes, sexual orientation, race, and religious views.  They seek to make everyone conform to their standards.

And that is why I will NEVER vote for a Mormon president!  My vote will always be for equality of ALL people and those who promote it!

Nov. 9, 2012 Update: I was in the presence of a Mormon today and overheard them say of Obama, "I just wish someone would assassinate his ass!"

Romney Is Defeated!!!

5 Reasons Why No Woman Should Vote for Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan

1. Paul Ryan doesn't think women should be paid the same amount as men for the same work.
2. Paul Ryan opposes abortion even in cases of rape and incest.
3. Paul Ryan wants to get rid of planned parenthood.
4. Paul Ryan would criminalize some forms of birth control.
5. Paul Ryan would outlaw in vitro fertilization.

Women of America, do you want a president who clearly believes that women are inferior to men?

Wow, after watching this, does Mitt Romney have any beliefs that don't change? I get that sometimes a person changes their minds on issues after learning more about them, but it appears to me that he just says whatever he thinks his audience wants to hear.

Vote for anyone you want... Just not these two clowns!

What Does This Presidential Election Mean to the Mormons?

I grew up being taught that it was a Mormon prophesy uttered by Joseph Smith that someday the government of the United States would hang by a thread and that the Mormon church would save it.

In the book, Discourses of Brigham Young, an edited collection of President Young's sermons from the Journal of Discourses, we read:

"How long will it be before the words of the prophet Joseph will be fulfilled? He said if the Constitution of the United States were saved at all it must be done by this people. It will not be many years before these words come to pass." 12:204.

http://www.ldsresources.net/constitution-hang-by-a-thread/  This link is a pro-Mormon discussion of this topic.

I would not be surprised if many Mormons believe that Mitt Romney is going to fulfill this prophesy by being elected president.  There is no doubt in many Mormon minds that the almighty will swing the vote in Romney's favor.

Power has been the agenda of the LDS church since the beginning.  Joseph Smith himself ran for president although he was killed before the elections took place.

The Mormons are very hopeful of Romney being elected so that the "influence of the church" may be spread even faster.  I bet that 99% of the Mormons in America will be voting for Romney.  I am terrified of a Mormon in the White House.  I am truly terrified that the country will be run by the Mormon church.  I fear they will try to enact laws at the Federal level that will shove the agenda of Mormonism upon the whole country.

Then the prophesy of Joseph Smith will actually come true and the government will be hanging by a thread!

I hope that Americans have enough common sense to never send a Mormon to the White House.  Their agenda is power and spreading their influence across the whole world.  If you like having every aspect of your life dictated for you, then vote for Romney.  If you like asinine liquor laws and hardly no distinction between church and state, then vote for a Mormon.

I urge all my readers to not vote for Romney this November 6, unless you want your freedom taken away!

*update* While Romney claims that his presidential decisions will not be influenced by leaders of the Mormon church, everyone who knows anything about Mormonism knows that is not true.  Temple endowed Mormons covenant to do everything in their power to build up the kingdom of god on earth.  His positions on certain political issues are most certainly influenced by the church.  The laws he will try to pass will all most certainly reflect LDS rules and standards.

Remember the LDS church has always wanted power.  What more power can they get than one of their own as president of the most powerful nation in the world?
