Is The Gospel Really Necessary For Your Life?

It has been at least two years since I have taken the sacrament, worn my holy underwear, blessed my food, prayed for safety, fasted, received a blessing, or even attended church.

Nope, haven't done any of those things for a long time. But guess what? I'm just fine! I haven't died of food poisoning, haven't gotten killed in a car wreck. In fact, I walked out of a car wreck last year without a scratch and I wasn't even wearing my garments! If a TBM gets in a car wreck and walks out, they think they are so protected. Then why does it happen to everyone? TBM's die in car wrecks too, so why didn't god protect them that time? Then they think that it was their time to go and god took them. What they don't realize is that it's just life happening. If they didn't die, god was protecting them. If they did die, then god wanted it to happen. TBM's turn every day life into some type of drama where god is pulling all the strings. It's just life!

I haven't eaten the body of Christ for a long time. Actually, now that I think about it, that is a very gross ordinance. We eat a chunk of Jesus' flesh to renew our commitment. Then we do the same by drinking his blood. That sounds extremely cultish, does it not?

Haven't blessed my food. When I am eating with Mormons and they want to bless the food, I will sit quietly while they do so. But I don't say amen. Just imagine, I don't bless my food and yet it still gives me health and strength! I haven't died of food poisoning either!

No blessings for inspiration and yet my schooling and work continues to progress and improve.

No fasting. I never did like that. It was awful and miserable.

I have completely abandoned all those Mormon requirements and yet for some strange, unexplainable reason, my life still goes on just like before. No accidents, no food poisoning, no stupor of thought (If having the spirit abandon you is so bad, why am I pulling straight A's in school?)

I got out of the Mormon routine and kicked Jesus out of my life and guess what?!?! My life has seriously never been better!

Mormonism is supposed to make you happy, but it makes you miserable.

Jesus is supposed to lighten your burden, but the church dumps heaps of rules, demands, and expectations on you.

The spirit is supposed to enlighten you, but all it does is take away your ability to think.

God is supposed to be my all-loving father, so how come he hides in heaven and never talks to me?

No, the Mormon gospel is not necessary. In fact, it creates stress by demanding 1001 different things of you. Therefore, stress. If you do not accomplish all 1001 things, guilt. Therefore, more stress. Mormonism provides stress, whether you conform or not. The only way to escape it, is to escape it. Get the hell out! I did, and that is why my life has only gotten better.

So, TBM's who feel the need to convince me to come back, don't waste your time. If you can dispute what I write, then great. But your sincere testimony is going to accomplish nothing. Your testimony is bullshit since you don't even know the history of your own church. They only reason you "know" it's true is because you've been brainwashed with it your whole life.

I have had a few TBM commenters now and not one of you have actually addressed any of my claims. All you do is call me a hypocrite and then tell me that god still loves me. If you don't have anything intelligent to say, then don't even bother. If you can actually dispute me, then by all means, you're more than welcome.

On the other hand, if you're TBM and just getting sick and tired of all the Mormon demands, then let me show you that there is another path. If you're having doubts and then feeling guilty for having doubts, let me help you. You're having doubts because your BRAIN is starting to work a little bit. Afterall, god gave you that brain didn't he? It's time for you to start using it.

Mormonism is a cult and it's gospel is completely unnecessary. Free yourself from bondage. I did, and life is wonderful.

Just another evil apostate...

Regarding this, I just thought you should know that Mormons don't believe in transubstantiation and as far as I know Catholics are the main proponents of such a doctrine. Mormons don't teach or believe in that, and the sacrament prayer says that they eat "in remembrance" of the sacrifice of Christ, it's not like they think they're actually eating Jesus' body.

I think that he was pointing out the true horror of the metaphor! It is one of the most creepy aspects of any of the many brands of Christianity is this metaphor they the call The Eucharist.
I was forced to confirm at the age of 9, something I still resent, because I had no idea what I was swearing to do.
Great blog btw! I knew Mormonism was a very controlling religion, but your description is frightening.
